Hi, I’m contacting you because I want to make a homebrew tribute USB. I’m collecting as many content creators as possible. I also want to include a profile for each one, with a few details, such as their logo, avatar, name, work completed, projects, etc., so you can see who’s behind their creations.
That profile, along with any material you allow me to upload, will be placed on a USB drive. This will act as a database of creators and their creations, and will be updated as I connect with new people.
The USB I’m thinking of creating will be one of those rubber-type USBs, shaped like a Spectrum computer, something that looks really nice. The idea is that those who contribute material, and if they want to buy one or more, will get it at cost price, and those who just want to buy one, it will cost a little more.
The idea is that if enough are sold, enough to recover the initial investment, the profits that the rest of the USBs could generate will be distributed among the people who have contributed material to the project, via transfer, PayPal, or however possible, even if possible, that the USB will be free. Obviously, you can buy more than one, but only one of them can be free.
It’s not necessary or mandatory to buy the USB, only if you like it or want it.
If you’re interested in this project, you can contact me at this email, flopping@gmail.com. If you have any questions or concerns, let me know and I’ll answer them. Do you think the idea is a good one? Would you like to participate in the project? Let me know. Best regards.
Juan.
Can I ask, are the people being rescued really sweary, or are my ears just hearing rude words at random?
LOL. You've seen the Peter Kay routine where he mishears the lyrics to songs haven't you? It's "thank you" but if you tell people what they're about to hear in advance, that's what they'll hear. I seem to remember QI proving the point some years ago. Differences between emulators don't help but it sounds fine to me on the EightyOne emulator.
To be fair to Flood, I should be wearing my hearing aids.
Think I needed to download again - great news on a new game - this is great fun
Crash 24 reviews as a finished game but this seems to still be the demo version? When might we see the full game available?
This is the full game, there is no memory left to add anything else. I'm presently working on another Spectrum game.
Working on a new game? That's great to hear. I've enjoyed your games since "rediscovering" the Spectrum some years ago and playing "Higgledy Piggledy"!
Greetings Jonathan Cauldwell,
we hope you are doing great. I am Areeba (aka Titania) from the BrewOtaku-Team, we are launching BrewOtaku #003 - The Homebrew Gaming Magazine soon.
We loved your work, and we have mentioned "Flood” in it. Kindly share your contact details so we can share it with you. You are anyhow free to share this on your social media channels or homepage.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards
Titania
Nice little arcade game that is very similar to "Choplifter". Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 04:53:04. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
Very good new game. I also added it to my new "Gameplay of New ZX Spectrum games from June 2024" video.
Pretty neat little game. I'd love separate keys for passenger drop and missiles though, I keep dropping the buggers all over the place, bit masochistic. :D
I do believe the great engine here, with that cool scrolling and basic setup, could be used to expand this into a fully fledged "Crash Smash" thing. Maybe add some extra mechanics/objectives, stuff like having to slow down to collect passengers or else they get rammed into the water/killed, different levels/maps, having to refuel the chopper, time limits with a counter to achieve objectives, assorted/random events and/or secondary objectives, etc. Just some ideas. Cheers!
Cool! I love the effect on the water surface!
very good
Good job!
Nice!
Very cool game, thank you. Donate sent, all the best.
Thank for for this little game, here is my tribute to more great work from you.
Barnsley? LOL
Nice, smooth action and I actually managed to rescue more people than were abducted, in the first half :)
Nice game, Jonathan. Good to see you at a Speccy game again :)
Are you considering to release the source, too?
The scrolling mechanics of the chopper are brilliant and really make this game fun to play. It's so sad when you see a human being beamed up when you have a full helicopter! :D
